Character Creation

Every character needs a start. This is a writing site, consider this your first role playing piece and one you want to show off to others before they even begin to write with you and your character. These are living documents and you have full control over your own character’s history. However we do have a few rules we will require you to follow.

  1. The time period in which we are playing is after the Aiel War ended and before the Dragon has been discovered. No specific year, it is purposefully ambiguous.
  2. With the above in mind, there is no Black Tower, Band of the Red Hand, Legion of the Dragon, Dragonsworn, Shaido Aiel “separatists” and anything else that is not already recognized before the beginning of New Spring.
  3. Wolfkin exist, however they are very rare, and typically do not frequent populated areas out of fear.
  4. Male Channelers are also very rare, they are wilders. They have not been taught to channel, and are typically found and severed from the Source quickly. We will not be allowing False Dragons at this time.
  5. Aiel are not wandering the wetlands. There is an outpost that is accessible to those in Mayene, but role playing with Aiel is going to be very limited and not recommended for play with out some really great hooks to advance your character’s story line.
  6. Do not include any cannon characters in your histories, or your future interactions.
  7. You may not have a top level title. ie: King or Amrylin Seat
  8. If you choose to have a noble character you may not use any name with in the series of books, and may not be related to anyone in the books.
  9. You may only create characters on the mainland. No Seanchan, Isle of Mad Men or Shara.

All biographies are your responsibility. You must have a biography for every character you intend to play. If you have a regular NPC then you should write up the NPC as well so that this character is known in the world. Our database of NPCs and locations are not the end all and be all, there are many many more places and you are welcome to create them per their instructions.

Biographies should be in the following format:
Title: Your character’s full name
In the Editor box:

Age:
Social Status: [Commoner, Merchant, Middle Class,  or Nobility]
Sex: [Male or Female]
Hair:
Eyes:
Height:
Weight:

Description:

Typical Dress:

Personality:

History:

In the right hand column there are three ares in which you should add the correct information.

Under Race you should use the nations as the race. ie: Tear instead of Tarien

Under Profession you should include any organization or profession your character is associated with. ie: White Tower or Blacksmith

The Featured Image is a place where you can added an image of your character. It will automatically be cropped to 150 width and 200 height.

Make sure you click the publish button when you are finished. Depending on your role with in the software your submission may not show up afterwards. If you do not see your biography listed with the other characters on the main site please make reply to the character submissions thread on the Planning forum to get it approved in the system.

Character Development

We are a site dedicated to the development of our characters and not of the world in general. Your character can and should get better as time moves forward. You are responsible for keeping a Role Playing log as part of your biography. It should consist of the thread title with that links directly to the thread with a summary of the thread and any new information that might be important about your characters personality. ie: found out she’s afraid of water.

NPC Creation

NPCs are optional. However they do not require as much information as a player character good background information and any ongoing changes should be added to the profile for NPCs.

Biographies should be in the following format:

Location Creation

A location is optional, however if there is a place you use regularly you should create a location for it so that you and others can use it with the same information.

Follow the following format:
Title: Location’s Name
In the Editor box:

Outside Description:

Inside Description:

History:

PC's employed:

NPC's employed:

In the right hand column there are two areas of note:

The district in which the location is should be listed. They are as follows:

  • Entertainment District
  • Dock District
  • Administrative District
  • Market District
  • The Slums

You may also add an image of the location they will automatically be cropped at 200×200.
